The March On! Award is the most prestigious award that honors transformational philanthropy to Indiana State University. This special award, named for our first comprehensive campaign, March On! The Campaign for Indiana State University, signifies the important role of our alumni, friends and corporate partners in Indiana State’s growth and success.
The ISU Foundation presents March On! Awards annually to donors who have generously supported the institution. Recipients are selected by the ISU Foundation Board’s development committee.
The 2019 award recipients were recognized at the annual March On! Awards event.
2019 March On! Award Recipients
David and Carolene Bash
David, ’69, and Carolene Bash established the Lectures in Modern American Literature endowment in 2016 to honor David’s parents, James and Virginia Bash. The fund enables the Department of English to bring guest lecturers to campus to speak on 20th- and 21st-century literary topics. The endowment has supported opportunities for students, faculty and members of the community to learn from notable writers and scholars since its inception.
Don and Linda Dudine
Don, ’67, and Linda Dudine are steadfast supporters of student-led initiatives and efforts that encourage philanthropy to Indiana State. The couple provided a generous challenge gift to State’s inaugural Give to Blue Day that inspired 252 students to make donations and provided funding to initiate a student philanthropy organization. Don and Linda have also funded an interactive donor recognition wall to perpetuate a culture of “joyful giving”. The wall, to be completed in early October, is located in Hulman Memorial Student Union.
Dick and Betsy Frank
Dick and Betsy Frank’s Indiana State connection began when Betsy joined the nursing faculty in 1994. Having served as a faculty member for 17 years, she is active in emeriti activities and serves as an adjunct faculty member for the School of Nursing. Betsy and her husband, Dick, have been loyal donors for the past 25 years to a variety of programs and initiatives, including funding a scholarship endowment to support distance education students in the nursing program.
