Faculty and Staff Campaign FAQ

What is the Faculty and Staff Campaign?

The Faculty and Staff Campaign is an organized fundraising effort that encourages faculty, staff and emeriti to make a gift to Indiana State University.

Gifts can support the University’s greatest priorities, possibilities and potential through The Fund for Indiana State or the area that you are most passionate about.  All gifts received will influence the lives of more than 13,000 students, while enhancing the advancing the mission of the institution.

Why does ISU need faculty and staff support?

The Faculty and Staff Campaign provides an opportunity for us to model the importance of philanthropy to our students, alumni and friends. Besides, who knows better than our Sycamore family the needs of our students to help them achieve their dreams and become productive citizens for Indiana and the world.

Giving by our faculty, staff and emeriti shows confidence in the University and its mission. With decreased state funding, private philanthropy is a significant source on how we can ensure the needs of our students, programs and facilities are met.

How much should I give?

Any amount that feels comfortable for you. Participation is the number one goal for our annual Faculty and Staff Campaign, and every gift at any amount will make a positive difference.

How can I make a gift?

You can make your gift to the Faculty and Staff Campaign in the following ways: cash contribution, check, credit card or payroll deduction. Be sure to fill out a pledge card and clearly indicate your giving designation.

For cash and check contributions, please direct them to the ISU Foundation office. All checks should be payable to the ISU Foundation.

How does payroll deduction work?

Payroll deduction is one of the most convenient ways to make a gift. When you enroll in payroll deduction, your gift will be automatically deducted from your paycheck for the exact amount you determine. View the Power of Payroll Deduction form.

Am I able to make my gift online?

Online credit card gifts may be made by visiting our online giving page.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Gifts to the ISU Foundation are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of state and federal laws. We recommend you consult with your tax and/or legal counsel for more information about the tax benefits of your donation.

What gift fees are associated with my gift?

None. The ISU Foundation does not have a gift processing fee on any gift made by ISU faculty and staff members. 100% of your gift benefits where you choose.

What if my spouse works for a matching gift company?

A number of companies participate in a matching gift program, allowing you the opportunity to double or even triple your contribution to Indiana State. If your spouse’s employer is a participant, please enclose the company’s matching gift form along with your commitment to the University. You can view a list of matching gift companies at on our matching gift page.

How will my gift be recognized?

Our annual report contains a listing of all alumni, faculty, staff and friends who contribute financially to Indiana State. This is an electronic publication that is published in the fall for all donors who gave during the previous fiscal year. If you do not wish to have your name included in the report, check the appropriate box on the online gift form or contact the ISU Foundation office and we will honor your wishes.

I already made a gift this year; do I have to make another gift to be a participant in the Faculty and Staff Campaign?

Any contribution made to the ISU Foundation during the current fiscal year (July 1 – June 30) qualifies you as a participant.

My spouse also works at the university. Will our joint gift count for both of us?

If you and your spouse are employed by the university, both of you will receive gift credit for your contribution.

What about a planned gift?

Planned gifts, such as bequests through wills, charitable remainder trusts, and life insurance policies also count as campaign contributions. To discuss a planned gift, please  contact Bobbie Donahue at 812.514.8459 or bdonahue@indstatefoundation.org.
